Continuing Support: Disaster Relief Trip 2026
We are planning a Disaster Relief trip to continue helping those who were impacted by Hurricane Helene. Volunteer help continues to be needed as it is estimated the recovery efforts will continue for at least 10 years. This trip will be from Tuesday, March 24th through Saturday, March 28th. We will be traveling to the Asheville, NC area using Lutheridge as our base camp. Efforts will be coordinated through Lutheran Disaster Relief – Carolinas (LDRC). Volunteers from LCR will be joined by volunteers from other Lutheran churches in the Atlanta area.
Everyone/Anyone who has a desire to help those who are still struggling with the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene are encouraged to join – either for the entire trip or for a part of the trip. Most of the work to be done will be things like painting, insulating, drywall work, exterior repairs, etc. But there is also the need for cooking meals for the volunteers, supply runs, offering support to the families to name a few. There are no skills required to participate other than a desire to help others in need.
