Palm Sunday, March 24
Combined service at 10:00 am
Join us on Palm Sunday, March 24, at 10:00 for a combined service with a procession with palms into the church. The Palm Sunday liturgy includes a semi-dramatized reading of the Passion narrative from the Gospel of Mark, with familiar hymns and a music offering by LCR’s handbell ensemble, Resurrection Bells.
Maundy Thursday, March 28
7:00 pm
Maundy Thursday celebrates the night Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper with his disciples during Passover. Join us at 7:00 for worship and Holy Communion, followed by the traditional Stripping of the Altar.
Good Friday, March 29
Noon and 7:00 pm
On Good Friday, we commemorate the death of Christ on the cross. At noon we will hear the Passion narrative from the Gospel of John, with veneration of the cross. Join us at 7:00 PM for a special Tenebrae service, where we will hear the Passion narrative as the lights in the church go out. Tenebrae is traditionally concluded by a loud noise called the strepitus, which recalls the earthquake at the moment of Christ’s death on the cross.
