Join us on December 24 as we celebrate the birth of Christ with carols, festive music, and Holy Communion. Each service offers a joyful and meaningful way to step into the hope and light of Christmas.
4:00 pm Family Service
A fun, joy-filled celebration designed especially for families. Children are invited to take part in a lively nativity procession, complete with costumes, as they help lead worship and sing the first hymn. It’s a wonderful way for kids to experience the Christmas story up close. Families interested in participating can reach out to Carter for details and ways to get involved.
8:00 pm Candlelight Service
A traditional evening service featuring candlelight, beloved carols, and a peaceful moment of reflection as we welcome the newborn Christ.

On July 6, our Director of Worship Julian Calvin presents a Lunchtime Piano Recital, featuring works by Beethoven and Chopin, three lively Scott Joplin rags, and a bold arrangement of A Mighty Fortress Is Our God. It’s a joyful mix of classical and American piano traditions.
Then on July 20, take in the rich, expressive sounds of the organ during an Organ Recital: Classics & Spirituals, featuring music by Buxtehude and Rheinberger, along with moving arrangements of well-known Spirituals.
Both recitals begin after worship, around 11:00 a.m. and last about 45 minutes; a perfect way to pause, reflect, and enjoy the gift of music.

From June 29 through July 27, we will have the opportunity to worship as one church at a combined 10:00 AM service. Each service will look a little different musically and liturgically: the majority of them will be blended, and we will have one contemporary and one traditional service. The blended services will incorporate elements of both contemporary and traditional liturgies, with some Gospel and Spiritual songs added for diversity.
After the service on July 6, at 11:15, stick around for a 45-minute piano recital featuring works by Beethoven, Scott Joplin, and Frederic Chopin, and on July 20 for an organ recital featuring works by Dieterich Buxtehude, Josef Rheinberger, and a couple arrangements of favorite Spirituals.
The LCR Music Ministry is excited to invite you to a free concert of classical chamber music at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 23, to dedicate our newly-acquired grand piano.
A piano trio, consisting of Andrew Uhe on violin, Tim Feverston on cello, and Julian Calvin on piano, will perform piano trios by Franz Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven. Haydn’s Piano Trio No. 39 in G major, often referred to as the “Gypsy Rondo,” takes its nickname from the lively and spirited third movement, which features a rhythmic pattern and style reminiscent of traditional Hungarian folk dances.
The term “Gypsy” historically referred to the Romani people, an ethnic group with roots in India, but the word is now widely regarded as pejorative due to its association with stereotypes and discrimination. In Haydn’s time, the term was used to evoke the lively, free-spirited character of the music rather than to reference the Romani culture directly.
Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B-flat op. 97, “Archduke,” was dedicated to Archduke Rudolf of Austria, a patron and student of Beethoven and an amateur pianist. Unlike the Haydn trio, where the cello mostly doubles the piano’s bass line and the violin has few solo moments, the “Archduke” trio gives each instrument greater independence. Composed between 1810-1811, this trio was the last work that Beethoven performed in 1814; his deafness prevented him from playing in public thereafter, although he continued to compose until his death in 1827.
