Planting Seeds of Faith: Meet Carter Crenshaw

We sat down with Carter Crenshaw, LCR’s new Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries, to help you get to know him a little better. From the moment you meet Carter, his warmth and enthusiasm make it clear how much he loves the church and the people in it.

“Church always felt like home to me,” Carter shared. “That’s something I want to give back to others, especially our kids and youth.”

When asked to describe his ministry in one emoji, Carter chose the sprouting leaf, a symbol of growth and renewal. “It may look small, but it’s the beginning of new life,” he said. “The little blossoms along the way are what keep me inspired.” 🌱🌱🌱

Carter says what excites him most about LCR is the heart of service he’s already seen. “People here are eager to connect, to build relationships, and to make an impact in the community.” That community spirit was on full display at this year’s Trunk or Treat, where hundreds of children and families joined in the fun.

A favorite verse that guides Carter’s ministry is from Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” He says it reminds him that even in hard seasons, showing up with a heart of service is what matters most.

Carter’s creativity and compassion are already taking root at LCR, and that little sprouting leaf he loves so much feels like the perfect symbol for what’s ahead.
