LCR is planning another mission trip to help with Hurricane Helene disaster relief efforts in the Western North Carolina area.  The area we will be serving (just north of Asheville) was significantly impacted by the storm and will be in recovery for the next 8-10 years.  This is our small way of helping in those efforts.

The dates for this trip will be Wednesday, May 28th through Saturday, May 31st. Lodging will be at Lutherock located near Newland, NC.  Individuals will pay a lodging fee of $25 per night plus a share of the food costs.

Our efforts will be coordinated through Lutheran Disaster Response Carolinas (LDR) working with other local agencies to connect volunteers with the work that needs to be done in the community.  Some of the work will require skilled labor and some just needing willing and hard-working individuals.  The trip will also include some time working at Lutherock to help get the camp ready for summer campers.

This trip is for everyone – men, women, youth (must be 14 years and older), skilled and unskilled. All that is necessary is a desire to help people whose life was upended by this devastating storm.  For more information contact Mark Brosch or John Osberg.
