Lodging will be at Lutherock located near Newland\, NC.  Individuals will pay a lodging fee of $25 per night plus a share of the food costs. \nOur efforts will be coordinated through Lutheran Disaster Response Carolinas (LDR) working with other local agencies to connect volunteers with the work that needs to be done in the community.  Some of the work will require skilled labor and some just needing willing and hard-working individuals.  The trip will also include some time working at Lutherock to help get the camp ready for summer campers. \nThis trip is for everyone – men\, women\, youth (must be 14 years and older)\, skilled and unskilled. It will be a chance to greet them\, chat with them about the upcoming programming they are planning\, and celebrate these new beginnings together.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nI am Paige McCray\, a native of Powder Springs\, GA and currently live in Dallas\, GA. I am married to my husband\, Miles McCray\, and I am a mother to Parker McCray (6 months) and my son Bryce McCray (8 years old).\nMy educational background includes a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration/Management and a Master of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems. I have a diverse professional background and experience in workforce development\, human resources\, program management\, ministry administration\, and more. I have a passion for connecting others to God’s gifts and calling for their lives. I believe that God has blessed me and uses me as a vessel to impact others through my own talents and gifts in tremendous ways.\n\nMy favorite scripture is “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God\, not a result of works\, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship\, created in Christ Jesus for good works\, which God prepared beforehand\, that we should walk in them” –Ephesians 2:8-9\n\nGod’s grace has been sufficient in every season I have endured and for mankind since the beginning of the creation of the earth. God’s love is so deep for us that He created grace\, and it is such a beautiful feeling to know there is nothing we can do on earth that outshines or surpasses this gift He has given us. Grace has planted me in opportunities\, mentioned my name in rooms\, benefited my family\, protected my loved ones\, and blessed others in spaces where I simply did not have the credentials or deserve such blessings. Because of His grace for us everyday and for our salvation\, I make sure to extend love and grace to others because I wouldn’t be the Follower of Christ\, leader\, wife\, mother\, and human I am today without it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMy name is Carter Crenshaw and I’m a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee (Go Vols!) and I bring a background in behavioral health and education. I’m also a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Marietta\, where my faith was nurtured from a young age.\n\nI believe in the power of connection\, compassion\, and community. When I’m not at church\, you’ll usually find me spending time with my best friend\, Rudy\, a spunky miniature dachshund who brings so much joy to my life.\n\n\nOne verse that has carried me through both joyful and challenging seasons comes from Galatians “So let us not grow weary in doing good\, for we will reap at harvest time\, if we do not give up.” It reminds me that even when the work feels slow or unseen\, staying faithful and steady matters.
